Sometimes we make promises.

Some months ago we began proclaiming that there was movement in the pipeline and things to be celebrated. While it has proven slightly more protracted reaching that point we have now arrived at a position where the current is truely in motion.

As you may have gathered from the previous few postings we are now working through the preliminary stages of pre-production on our as yet untitled debut album. Presiding over this beast is Mr. Tom Larkin, better known the man behind the kit in Shihad and something of a rising force in the production world particularly in Australia where he has been instrumental in launching the career of Triple J darlings Calling All Cars and the production force behind Young Heretics among others.

As of Monday we are now working through a growing list of songs (some of which you may have heard live if you’ve caught us in the last 12 months) trying new ideas, refining, defining and flipping every which way to create the final collection.

In October we will be doing further extensive pre-production before heading to Melbourne to track the record and complete the picture. All of this will of course be documented right here so if you want to follow the progress we will be posting photos, videos and possibly some samples. Whatever’s entertaining right?

With any luck there will be a single out before November.

ceteris paribus….

Day two

Hello from the studio,
We are having a good time making both magniloquent and grandiloquent music. And looking up synonyms. The question of the day: is there a synonym for synonym? Wish you were here.
Love,
Inverse Order.

Did we mention we’re making a record?

We’re getting settled into a studio in Kingsland, Auckland for pre-production on our debut album.

23 songs (and counting) to demo in 3 days with a liquor store convieniently located on the ground floor, this is going to be a busy 72 hours.

Musichype 12″ and USB

We will be featured alongside 12 other great bands on Musichy.pe’s Indie Mix Tape compilation.

Put together for NZ Music Month the compilation will be released on limited edition 12″ vinyl (the web site shows a classy hot pink) and a custom USB stick.

While we’ve graced many a CD this will be our first foray into the analogue world so the vinyl is particularly exciting. We’ll let you know when it’s available.

We’ll see y’all there.

We cover The Pixies on The Rock FM

Last week we headed into the The Rock to record a cover of The Pixies ‘Where is My Mind’ for their Like a Version series.

We were lucky enough to catch The Pixies live the week before on their Doolittle Tour and this seemed like an apt choice.

Check it out here:

Read it here: http://www.3news.co.nz/Inverse-Order-gig-review/tabid/418/articleID/142035/Default.aspx

They took some nice pictures too…

Gig this Thursday!

We’re playing this Thursday at the Kings Arms. The pub is the proud owner of new shiny wooden floors so we’re pretty damn excited about it!

As an added bonus we have new tunes to play and of course it’s a pub so there is always drinking to be done!

$10 entry, EP’s, t-shirts and bodyparts for sale on the door.
